everybody i know uses a recurve and the person above is wrong......most recurves made now except custom recurves have a stabilizer hole and if it does not you can buy reels that you tape on....it is usually personal preference ......those who are hardcore compound users will use a compound same goes for traditional bow users and there are many recurves that shoot just as fast as a compound
I have been shooting recurves since I was a kid.
what it boils down to is use what you like the best one is no better than the other
